Create Your Legacy

Nothing lasts forever—at least that’s what people say.

And no wonder. In today’s world, change is happening at a rapid pace. What we know is quickly and frequently replaced by something new. It’s a trend that makes us think about the people, ideals, and places we care about, including Gladney.

What if you could ensure that what you value lasts? What if you could sustain the things that matter to you, such as helping every child have a loving and caring family, and create a meaningful legacy that forever reflects your passions?

You can.

By including Gladney in your long-term plans, you have the power to advance our mission of creating bright futures through adoption well into the future. You’ll be able to make an even bigger impact on the birth parents, children, and families we serve than you may have thought possible. And by doing so, you’ll forever attach your legacy to something truly significant.

YOUR WILL POWER

It’s not easy talking about wills. The thought of not being there for your loved ones weighs heavily. But delaying this discussion can do more harm than good. A will provide for the people and causes you care about, such as Gladney. It’s the best way to ensure your wishes—such as who cares for your children or who receives a prized possession—are carried out after you’re gone. A gift from your will is a powerful way to make an impact at Gladney.

IRA DISTRIBUTIONS

We appreciate your support of Gladney and the clients we serve. If by chance you are required to take a distribution from an IRA or any other qualified accounts, you might be able to leverage your current gifts even more. Instead of taking your distribution, paying income tax on it, and then making a gift to Gladney, we encourage you to consider having your custodian make the gift directly from your IRA to Gladney. The IRS allows you to avoid paying income taxes on the distribution if it is made directly to a 501(c)3. This rule applies to all 501(c)3 organizations, so make sure you consider this for all of your charitable contributions each year. Please consult with your tax advisor for more information.

DONOR ADVISED FUNDS

A one-stop solution that simplifies your charitable giving, donor advised funds have experienced a recent surge in popularity. Turn your donor advised fund into a lasting legacy at Gladney by naming us as a beneficiary of your fund. You can do this at the time you create the fund, or if you already have one, contact your fund administrator to complete a change form. You have the option of naming Gladney as the beneficiary of the entire account or a percentage of the fund. With a percentage, the remaining amount can be managed by your loved ones.

ENDOWMENTS

The endowment provides for Gladney's future. Earnings from the endowment give perpetual support for Gladney’s most pressing needs, as determined by the Board or for purposes specified you as the donor. Gladney’s endowment portfolio managers carefully invest gifts of this type to maximize the growth and earnings of the endowment. The endowment gives Gladney fiscal strength and stability to ensure we can continue creating bright futures through adoption well into the future.
