DESCRIPTION
Saying the word 'Suicide' is not the problem. It's the silence that so often surrounds it.
This documentary invites us to hear from Survivors of Attempted Suicide, offering us a unique way to learn and increase our awareness about suicide.
In turn, we might be better prepared to go forward in life, helping a family member, friend, or colleague.
We invite you to join us for a screening of THE S WORD on :
Wednesday, Oct. 24th
Modern Art Museum of Ft. Worth (inside theatre)
Doors Open: 6:00 pm
Movie Starts: 6:30 pm
Non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase in the Café Modern.
What others are saying about THE S WORD :
“I kept finding that I was crying and laughing at the same time. No one expects to be inspired by a documentary on suicide. But viewers will leave informed, inspired, and uplifted.”
April Foreman, Ph.D Psychologist, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System
“The film tells untold stories in profound and original ways. It offers hope, but not by whitewashing the complexities of the lives it chronicles. It is frank and unstinting, and beautifully filmed, too. An important work of art.”
Andrew Solomon, New York Times Bestselling Author
“The S Word has the potential to do more for suicide prevention in one year than I have in my career. We can all learn from this film.”
William Schmitz, Jr., Psy.D, Past President, American Association of Suicidology
With great appreciation to VA North Texas Health Care System for bringing this film to the big screen.
We also give a round of applause to:
The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation ~ Gladney University ~ Grace Counseling , Starlite Recovery Center, Documentary Events
