Camp Forge

As you know, we have been monitoring the situation with COVID-19 to determine the safest and best path forward when it comes to our 2020 Camp Forge.

Sadly, we received communication last week that Camp Fire First Texas (our camp location) canceled all their summer camp programming. Since this is the case, we have also made the difficult decision to cancel Camp Forge. It saddens us that our campers will miss out on this summer’s camp experience, but we are looking forward to continuing to planning during the year and making our summer 2021 camp even more special. We will send out a save the date for summer 2021 as soon as those dates are scheduled. If you would like to read the announcement from Camp Fire First Texas you can find it here.

We know that many campers and parents want to attend camp to connect with other adoptees, but also sometimes to work through some difficult feelings surrounding adoption. Please know that Gladney’s Post Adoption Team is always available to talk with you about any questions or challenges your child may be having. Even though we won’t be able to spend a week with your child at camp, we still wish to support your family.

If you have questions about any of this information, please contact Lindsay Garrett at lindsay.garrett@gladney.org. We are thinking of each and every one of you during this strange and difficult time, and we hope to see you next summer.
