DESCRIPTION

Pam Dyson, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S from the DFW Center for Play Therapy Training will be presenting The ABC's of Play Therapy. This training will cover the basic rationale and theoretical concepts specific to both directive and non-directive play therapy. Attendees will be introduced to the toys and materials needed to set up a play therapy room or assemble a portable play therapy kit. Techniques that can be used for engagement, assessment, and treatment purposes will be demonstrated and attendees will have an opportunity to participate in experiential activities.

Pam Dyson, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S

Pam Dyson, MA, LPC-S, RPT-S is a licensed professional counselor supervisor and a registered play therapist supervisor specializing in working with children 3-12 years of age at her private practice in Plano, Texas. As the founder and director of the DFW Center for Play Therapy Training she provides workshops, supervision, and consultation services. Pam was the recipient of the Association for Play Therapy 2013 Key Award for Professional Education and Training and serves on the APT Board of Directors.
